“At the Carrock”
Oil on canvas, 13″x21″ wide.
Artist Commentary: I spent Saturday on the Anduin. My easel I set at the crest of the Carrock and sought to capture the chromium and cobalt hues of the Misty Mountains. I paused mid-morning when thrush and jay ceased their singing, and turning, beheld an enormous bear ascend the rock. The great Ursid sniffed the air and scowled westward. A moment later he retraced his steps, forded the river, and vanished into the foggy foothills.
